About
Hasn't changed much since this picture was taken.

DJ Young is a writer, composer, geeky hermit and Imaginary Friend (formerly)

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, DJ's formative years were spent on the islands of SE Alaska, where she grew up surrounded by tales and myths of the native Tlingit tribe, played with black bears, ran from a skunk and learned the best view is almost always up a tree.

DJ wrote her first book at age 12 when she copied the entire text of Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes into a wide-ruled spiral notebook she nicked from another student.   Other, original, writing projects soon followed, including a brief but regrettable stint with "Poetry."

DJ currently spends her time in the Oregon wilderness, afflicted with 'Twitter,' correcting other people's spelling and the odd grammatical error, and making guest contributions to literary, arts and music journals including: The Glenn Gould Foundation, Escape into Life, Luna Station Quarterly, The Guardian and BBC Radio 4.

In her spare time she writes novels and weird music.

Should you encounter her in the wild, approach slowly.

Use caution.
